Adam Williams presents his prediction for the NHL match.
Goalkeepers continue to save the day, but when your leading players stop scoring, there is no guarantee of victory. This is currently the case with the New Jersey Devils, who have managed just one goal in each of their last three encounters. This presents an excellent opportunity for the Boston Bruins to capitalise on the situation.
New Jersey Devils
Since the Christmas break, the Devils have secured only two regulation-time victories in 12 games. Their record in overtime isn't much better, standing at one win to three losses. They have conceded more than three goals in just one 60-minute game. When you're in form, that should be enough to secure wins, but over the past month, their scoring rate has been just 1.92 goals per game. The Devils' top scorer, Jack Hughes, has played in all 12 matches, yet only registered 10 points (3+7).
Boston Bruins
On the other hand, the Bruins' leader David Pastrňák has racked up 11 points (5+6) in just the last four games, and the team, undefeated in regulation time (3-0-1), has scored 21 goals. Yes, the Bruins also had a rough patch of six games without a win, but they snapped that streak with an away victory over the formidable Florida Panthers on 10 January (4:3 OT).
New Jersey Devils vs Boston Bruins Prediction
Although the hosts are the favourites, we suggest betting on a double chance for the visitors.
