Simon Dalton presents his prediction for the MLS match.
Matchday 21 of the MLS starts with the clash of one of the most expensive sides of the league, New York City, with Toronto FC that can’t get up from the bottom, a place they’ve been occupying in recent years.
New York City
No matter how rich they are, they can’t get higher than the 7th place of the Eastern Conference. Currently, they’re 9th and they’re about to be eliminated from the wild card zone. People, not money, play football. They have performed quite well in the last 7 games (3-2-2), however they were beaten by CF Montréal FC (0:1). Although that side is last in the conference.
Toronto FC
The side is a little bit higher than their rival from CF Montréal, occupying 13th position. They’re only 3 points ahead with one spare game. Last round saw them beating Portland Timbers (2:1). However, Toronto FC had a 4-game unwinning run before that.
New York City vs Toronto FC Prediction
Even this success of the Canadian team changes nothing. New York City won their four previous head-to-head games, although on three occasions with just a little lead. On two occasions New York City even had a player sent off, to no avail for the opponent. New York City will win again
