Adam Williams presents his prediction for the NBA match.
The Miami Heat have plummeted from seventh to ninth in the Eastern Conference standings after a disastrous seven-game losing streak. They are in a precarious position, and things could get even worse with a tough matchup against the New York Knicks. However, the Knicks have also been struggling, winning just three of their last seven games.
New York Knicks
The Knicks are far from their best form. Not only is their offensive leader, Jalen Brunson, sidelined, but rumours of a rift between head coach Tom Thibodeau and key players Josh Hart and Miles Bridges have also surfaced. This turmoil has translated into poor performances, most notably against the Golden State Warriors, where they managed just 94 points on 43% shooting. A similar offensive collapse occurred against the Los Angeles Clippers, scoring only 95 points with a 38.5% field goal percentage.
Miami Heat
Before completely writing off the Heat, it’s worth noting their recent losses came against elite opposition—the Cleveland Cavaliers, the Minnesota Timberwolves, the Boston Celtics, the Los Angeles Clippers, and the Memphis Grizzlies. Despite these setbacks, they were competitive in most games, holding the Celtics to just 103 points and nearly upsetting the Timberwolves (104:106). Even the high-powered Cavaliers were limited to 112 points on 47.1% shooting.
New York Knicks vs Miami Heat Prediction
Regardless of their struggles, the Miami Heat remain a strong defensive team. Two weeks ago, they already managed to stifle the Knicks, holding them to just 105 points in regulation. A similar defensive battle is likely on the cards again.
