For the New YorkLiberty this is a chance to strengthen their grip on a top-three spot in the conference, while for the Chicago Sky it’s about keeping their play-off hopes alive. The two sides come into it with very different forms and objectives, and that shapes the outlook.
New York Liberty
The Liberty are fighting for the summit, powered by one of the league’s most potent offences led by Sabrina Ionescu and Breanna Stewart. They’ve split their last 10 games, but on home court they’ve been much stronger with seven wins in their last nine. Statistically they sit in the WNBA’s top three for offensive rating and top four from beyond the arc.
Chicago Sky
The Sky are battling for a play-off berth but their form is worrying — just one win in their last 10. Their road record is poor, though shooting guard Ariel Atkins has been a rare bright spot with consistent scoring. The supporting cast from the bench isn’t delivering, and the defence is struggling badly on the perimeter, conceding more than 36% from three. They do run the floor well in transition, but against a balanced side like the Liberty that’s not enough.
New York Liberty vs Chicago Sky Prediction
The New York Liberty are clear favourites: solid form, elite offence and home-court advantage all weigh heavily in their favour. The Chicago Sky may hang around thanks to aggression on defence and individual talent, but the depth just isn’t there. The most logical play is backing the Liberty with a handicap.
