This will be a battle for the first victory in the championship. While we're accustomed to seeing Newcastle Falcons without wins, for Exeter Chiefs, it's the worst start in their history.
Newcastle Falcons
Another match, another heavy defeat, this time against Sale Sharks (10:43). Newcastle Falcons have been unable to score more than 14 points in any game this season. The players' level is not quite up to Premiership standards. Steve Diamond has even simplified their playbook to make things easier for his squad, but so far, it hasn't worked.
Exeter Chiefs
Exeter Chiefs are also struggling, but not all their losses are as deserved as Newcastle Falcons'. The first match against Leicester Tigers (14:17) stands out, where only a miracle could have turned it around... and that's what happened. The most recent loss to Bristol Bears was also in a hard-fought battle—35:40. Moreover, at the start of the final quarter, the Chiefs led by 20 points (32:12) but managed to let an even larger advantage slip away. Bristol Bears benefitted from a 10-minute sin-bin for the hosts in the 65th minute, during which the Chiefs conceded three tries.
Newcastle Falcons vs Exeter Chiefs Prediction
Both teams have issues with maintaining the requisite score, but Newcastle Falcons also suffer from poor finishing. Therefore, Exeter Chiefs should finally secure their first Premiership win. It may not be a large victory.
