Simon Dalton presents his prediction for the English Premier League match.
Newcastle United have dropped out of the European qualification spots after two disappointing results, slipping to seventh place. Meanwhile, Nottingham Forest remain comfortably in third despite their latest defeat, with only three points now separating them from Manchester City.
Newcastle United
There was a two-week gap between Newcastle’s two recent league defeats, during which time they secured a place in the League Cup final and advanced to the FA Cup fifth round. The first loss was particularly frustrating, coming at home against a Fulham side below them in the table. Losing to Manchester City at the Etihad was always going to be a tough challenge, despite their earlier draw in the reverse fixture. Their defence was ripped apart by Manchester City’s new signing, Omar Marmoush, who bagged a hat-trick. In total, Newcastle conceded four goals, with over 2.5 goals landing for the sixth straight Premier League game.
Nottingham Forest
Nottingham Forest also have their own prolific goalscorer—Chris Wood, who sits third in the Premier League’s top scorers’ list with 18 goals. He was on target again in the last match, though it wasn’t enough to secure points as they fell 2:1 away to Fulham. That result marked their fourth consecutive match where over 2.5 goals were scored.
Newcastle United vs Nottingham Forest Prediction
With both teams consistently involved in high-scoring matches, there’s no need to overcomplicate things. Expect another game filled with goals.
