Simon Dalton presents his prediction for the English Premier League match.
Newcastle
The Magpies have failed to endure the crazy schedule they have had, considering their limited resources. They were awful in the last Premier League games, being beaten by Everton (0:3) and Tottenham (1:4). They’re unlikely to have a flawless defence against Fulham. Besides, Kieran Trippier will miss this match, which will be another problem for the defensive line.
Fulham
Fulham performed brightly in the previous 4 Premier League rounds, scoring 16 times, which is more than they had managed to score for the 12 league games prior to that moment (10). The most successful games were in the previous two rounds: against West Ham (5:0) and Nottingham Forest (5:0). The Cottagers felt well in the offensive line even plying against top teams. For example, they scored thrice at Anfield, although they lost that game 3:4.
Newcastle – Fulham prediction
Fulham are on fire. They scored at least three goals in each of the previous 4 Premier League games. This is the first series of this kind the Cottagers have since October 1961. The Magpies will be in a tough situation. It’s hard to do something with such a force, even playing home. They’ve burnt all resources in the Champions League and approach this game with a lot of players being disqualified, injured or simply exhausted.
Newcastle will not be able to hold back Fulham that have been merciless recently.
