Whistlejacket leads the field with six starts and three victories, having started as the favourite each time. This colt, trained by Aidan O’Brien, runs in the green silks of Peter Mark Brant. He was narrowly beaten by the filly Babouche in the Phoenix Stakes, but it wasn’t due to a lack of speed.
Ides Of March has only had one outing in a group race, where he won the Group 3 Round Tower Stakes. All of his four starts have been at Curragh. He also clinched a Maiden, finishing three lengths ahead of his stablemate Monumental.
Shadow Of Light was withdrawn from the Mill Reef Stakes due to unsuitable ground conditions. He was the favourite for that race, but this competition is tougher. He has two wins and a second-place finish over the 6f distance.
Defence Minister has secured two victories in Novice Stakes. While his resume may seem modest, he’s an interesting each-way option at 16/1 on bet365. Two-year-old races often bring surprises, so he could be one to watch.
