Simon Dalton presents his prediction for the FIBA World Cup Qualifying match.
The preliminary stage of the FIBA World Cup qualifiers is currently underway. Teams have been divided into groups of three, with only the group winner progressing to the next round.
Norway
Norway began their qualification campaign against Denmark and, as anticipated, suffered a loss (71:89). This result mirrored the squad’s earlier struggles in previous qualifying rounds, where they advanced primarily due to two victories over Luxembourg. They failed to offer much competition against Romania, losing both fixtures (62:75 and 71:85). Their next opponent, however, represents a significantly tougher challenge.
Croatia
Croatia head into the qualifiers as clear favourites. In preparation, they played two friendlies, earning convincing wins over Ukraine (82:71) and Hungary (85:65). Notably, both squads are considerably stronger than Norway. According to the current FIBA standings, Hungary are placed 44th, while Norway sit 77th.
Norway vs Croatia Prediction
Little drama is expected in this contest. Croatia are far superior to their opponents and should achieve a comfortable victory. It is unlikely that Norway will pose any real threat.
