Simon Dalton presents his prediction for the Championship match.
Both clubs have suffered two consecutive losses, but Swansea City's winless streak is longer—four matches. Facing a resilient mid-table side away from home isn't the most straightforward opportunity to secure victory, but there's motivation: if the Welsh side win, they will overtake Norwich City in the standings.
Norwich City
Norwich City have been losing for objective reasons. In their two previous rounds, they faced the current top two teams in the Championship: Leeds United (0:2) and Sheffield United (0:2). Moreover, both matches were away from home, where those opponents were nearly unbeatable. However, when Norwich City played Coventry City at Carrow Road in the 26th round, the situation was different. Despite some difficulty, they earned a hard-fought 2:1 victory, thanks to a brace from Forson Amankwah in injury time, who came off the bench in the 84th minute. For the Ghanaian, who mainly appears as a substitute, these were his first goals of the season.
Swansea City
Swansea City also succumbed to the pressure of Sheffield United, who travelled to Wales after defeating Norwich. Sheffield United secured a 2:1 win, helped by the straight red card to home central defender Harry Darling. Darling had started every game this season. How will their defence cope without him? A replacement will be found, of course, but establishing chemistry could mean potential errors.
Norwich City vs Swansea City Prediction
What Swansea City have experienced away recently is a quiet disaster. Consider their 0:4 defeat to Portsmouth and a 0:3 loss to Cardiff City, both far from being the strongest teams, to put it mildly. Add in a 0:3 defeat in the FA Cup to Southampton. With such low resistance on the road and without their leading centre-back, Swansea City face nothing but defeat.
