Simon Dalton presents his prediction for the 2024 Australian Open match.
Novak Djokovic
Djokovic has lost three sets in Melbourne. He has controlled the situation, though. But he hasn’t been perfect. In the quarter-finals, for example, he used only 4 of his 21 break points. You expect more efficiency from Novak Djokovic in the games like that. November of the last year saw Djokovic losing 2 head-to-head games against Sinner out of 3. The Serb may face real problems now.
Jannik Sinner
Sinner used to have big problems with the Grand Slam tournaments for a long time. But now he’s mentally ready to win. He’s been very confident in Melbourne. He was perfect in the quarter-final game, making 10 aces, 76% 1st serve win and 52% 2nd serve win. He won 8 break points out of 8. He won, losing 1:5 on the 2nd set tie-break. Sinner won’t give up without fighting, as he knows how to beat Djokovic.
Novak Djokovic – Jannik Sinner prediction
Sinner is the only semi-finalist of the Australian Open, who hasn’t lose a set. He beat Andrey Rublev in the quarter-final game (3-0). The game lasted less than three hours, so Sinner has enough strength to keep on playing. This game will be a tough one.
