The game of the previous round against Mannarino was a simple one for Djokovic. He won the first two sets without letting his opponent win at least one game, easily ending the match in the third set (6:0, 6:0, 6:3). Novak made 17 aces, using 7 out of 11 break points, making 31 winners and 15 unforced errors.
Taylor Fritz
Taylor Fritz has performed in the best way for several last months, beating Tsitsipas (7:6, 5:7, 6:3, 6:3). This was the first win in a game against an opponent from the top 10 in a Grand Slam tournament. Fritz had lost his 10 previous games of this kind.

The form of Fritz doesn’t matter. Djokovic has been beating him year after year on all surfaces. The Serb won 8 times in the last 5 years. On 7 occasions, Fritz didn’t manage to win a game. Novak usually improves the way he plays in the second week of Grand Slam tournaments. This Australian Open is not an exception.
The North American part of the last season saw the same story. Fritz was good, reaching the quarter-finals in Cincinnati and the US Open. Both times he faced Djokovic, losing without any chance. I believe this is what we’re going to see this time, too.
