Simon Dalton presents his prediction for the Ligue 1 match.
OGC Nice remain in contention for one of the two remaining UEFA Champions League spots, while Stade de Reims are focused on securing their Ligue 1 status for next season.
OGC Nice
That said, OGC Nice appear the least likely among the contenders to secure even third place, as they are level on points with Strasbourg Alsace, who trail them closely. The target is just two points away, but ahead of them are Olympique Lyonnais, AS Monaco, and Lille, who are also in the mix for a top-three finish. OGC Nice still have to face Stade de Reims, as well as mid-table sides Stade Rennais and Stade Brestois 29, both of whom are no longer chasing major objectives but remain difficult opponents. Securing maximum points from these matches is far from certain.
Stade de Reims
Stade de Reims have struggled significantly this season. The team went 15 matches without a win, suffering nine losses and picking up six draws. After the ninth game without a victory, the club decided to make a managerial change. Samba Diawara, who had been assistant to the outgoing Luka Elsner, was promoted to head coach. The winless run ended on 29 March. Since then, under the Malian manager, the team have recorded three wins, two draws, and only one narrow defeat—a 0:1 loss to Strasbourg Alsace—in their last six outings. Still, relegation remains a concern, with the cushion to 17th place standing at just six points.
OGC Nice vs Stade de Reims Prediction
The crisis at Stade de Reims appears to have passed. As such, we do not expect them to lose by more than a single goal, while OGC Nice will be focused solely on getting the win.
