Adam Williams presents his prediction for the EuroLeague match.
Olimpia Milano have hit a rich vein of form, securing three consecutive wins in the EuroLeague, which has brought them right to the brink of the play-in zone. Their upcoming opponents, Crvena Zvezda, have an identical win-loss record.
Olimpia Milano
The primary reason for Olimpia Milano’s rise is their explosive play on offence, spearheaded by the stellar performances of their star player, Nikola Mirotić. The Spaniard is averaging an impressive line of 18.5 points and 7.7 rebounds. Milano boast the second-best scoring offence in the league, putting up 86.5 points per game. However, calling their defence solid would be a stretch, as Fenerbahçe and Maccabi Tel Aviv scored 85 and 86 points against them respectively, while ALBA Berlin managed to put up 105.
Crvena Zvezda
In the previous round, the Serbian side pulled off a sensational victory over Bayern Munich (101:77), with Filip Petrusev shining brightly. In just 22 minutes on the court, he racked up 25 points and 3 assists. On average, Crvena Zvezda score 83.6 points per game this season, but their main issue lies in an unreliable defence. Partizan scored 89 and AS Monaco 90 against them, despite both teams having much less potent attacks than Olimpia Milano.
Olimpia Milano vs Crvena Zvezda Prediction
Bookmakers suggest that this encounter might not be heavily scored, but we think otherwise. Olimpia Milano's offence is riding high, and the Serbian side, playing away, won't be able to contain it.
