Adam Williams presents his prediction for the EuroLeague match.
Last week was particularly challenging for Ettore Messina and Olimpia Milano, with two consecutive defeats and significant issues in their attack. Their upcoming opponent, Olympiacos Piraeus, currently third on the table, is a formidable one for working through their problems.
Olimpia Milano
In their previous game, the Italian team suffered a narrow home defeat to Bayern Munich (78:79). The main issue was a poor start, which left them having to claw back from an 18-point deficit. Nevertheless, Nikola Mirotic stood out once again, scoring 18 points and adding 6 assists. After two EuroLeague losses, Milan bounced back against Trapani Shark (105:90) in the Italian league, demonstrating their potential by shooting 56.1% from the field, suggesting that the players haven’t lost confidence.
Olympiacos Piraeus
Olympiacos Piraeus have their vulnerabilities. In the last round, they narrowly avoided a loss to ALBA Berlin (90:85). The Greek side squandered a 12-point lead and only dominated late on, thanks in large part to Evan Fournier's 23 points. The coaching staff has struggled to address their defensive issues. Besides ALBA, Crvena Zvezda managed over 85 points without their leading scorer Filip Petrušev. Prior to that, Paris Basketball pegged 96 points on them with a 50% field goal percentage.
Olimpia Milano vs Olympiacos Piraeus Prediction
The weekend's game showed that Olimpia Milano have not lost their attacking prowess. We believe Ettore Messina will find the right words to keep his players motivated. Olympiacos Piraeus will have a tough challenge ahead.
