Le Classique arrives as early as Matchday 5, and the derby always captures attention across France. Paris Saint‑Germain have strengthened again, while Olympique de Marseille are still searching for cohesion. Marseille need to beat a team that have yet to drop a point this season.

Olympique de Marseille are stumbling in every competition. In Ligue 1 they already have two defeats in four matches, and in the Champions League they failed their sternest league‑phase test against Real Madrid. Their opponents won by the narrowest margin (2:1), and did so while playing with ten men. The French owed plenty to Gerónimo Rulli, unequivocally the standout performer: the goalkeeper prevented 1.74 PSxG.

Paris Saint-Germain

At the start of the Champions League league phase, Paris Saint‑Germain swept aside Atalanta (4:0). Players from every line found the net, the only exception being the goalkeeper. The victory arrived even without the injured Ousmane Dembélé and Désiré Doué. They were clinical relative to their 3.48 xG. The team produced something similar in Ligue 1 against Toulouse (6:3).

Olympique de Marseille vs Paris Saint-Germain Prediction

Last season, Olympique de Marseille likewise failed to get within two goals (0:3, 1:3). It looks entirely reasonable to side with Paris Saint-Germain winning by two or more goals.
