Simon Dalton presents his prediction for the WTA Doha match.
Jabeur has been dominant in Doha, giving her opponents no chance and steadily climbing back towards the top 30 of the world rankings. Meanwhile, Ostapenko needs to recover from a poor start to the season, but given her current form, that will be a tough challenge.
Ons Jabeur
Jabeur is currently ranked 35th, but she has already won 11 out of 15 matches in 2025. She stormed through the early rounds in Doha, winning all three matches in under 19 games, including a convincing victory over world No.7 Zheng Qinwen (6:4, 6:2). Against lower-ranked opponents, Jabeur has been ruthless, winning eight consecutive matches. She also holds a 4-2 head-to-head lead over Ostapenko, including three straight victories.
Jelena Ostapenko
Ostapenko struggled in 2025, losing four of her first five matches before arriving in Doha. Her biggest weaknesses have been her poor first serve (averaging 54%) and frequent double faults (12 across her last three matches). Additionally, she has a poor record against top-50 opponents, losing 13 of her last 19 encounters. The Latvian recently faced Jabeur in Dubai earlier this month (6:7, 5:7), where she hit eight double faults and landed just 53% of her first serves.
Ons Jabeur vs Jelena Ostapenko Prediction
Jabeur is in much better form and has defeated Ostapenko three times in a row, including just last week. The Tunisian has made a strong start to the season, while Ostapenko continues to be inconsistent. Given these factors, Jabeur is the clear favourite to win.
