Simon Dalton presents his prediction for the La Liga match.
After successfully navigating two intense fixtures against Atletico Madrid (1:1) and Manchester City (3:2), Real Madrid will now shift focus to securing a comfortable win over Osasuna before their second leg against Manchester City at the Bernabéu. Osasuna, struggling for form, do not appear to pose a significant threat to the Madrid side, despite their injury concerns.
Osasuna
The defeat to Real Madrid (0:4) in November marked the beginning of a poor run for Osasuna, who have won just once in their last 11 league matches. In the past week, they crashed out of the Copa del Rey against Real Sociedad (0:2) and barely salvaged a point against Real Mallorca (1:1), thanks to a late goal from Enzo Boyomo. Their home defensive record is one of the worst in La Liga, conceding 17.03 xGA in 12 matches, making them the sixth weakest defence in the division.
Real Madrid
Despite injuries to Antonio Rüdiger and Lucas Vázquez, Real Madrid have adjusted well in defence, shifting Federico Valverde to the right flank. At the Etihad, their counter-attacks were lethal, accumulating 3.30 xG with 20 total shots against Manchester City. Since the start of 2025, Real Madrid have been La Liga’s most effective attacking side, boasting 15.64 xG across five league matches.
Osasuna vs Real Madrid Prediction
Real Madrid's victory over Osasuna (4:0) in November was their fifth consecutive win against them since February 2023. With their superior squad, form, and attacking efficiency, Real Madrid should dominate possession and comfortably secure three points.
