In the previous knockout round, Paris Saint-Germain easily defeated Stade Brestois (10:0 on aggregate), recording 5.95 xG over 180 minutes. They are playing their best football in several years, although their defence remains vulnerable as Lille managed to score from two shots on target in each match.
Liverpool
Liverpool finished as the strongest team in the group stage, accumulating 21 out of 24 points. Last week, Liverpool defeated a top domestic opponent on their home ground: following a 2:0 win over Manchester City, they secured a 2:0 victory over Newcastle United. Liverpool now lead Arsenal by 13 points and have scored at least two goals in six of their last seven away matches.
