Simon Dalton presents his prediction for the Coupe de France match.
Paris Saint-Germain are on the brink of achieving the first treble in the club’s history. Having already secured the Ligue 1 title, they now look to carry that momentum into the Coupe de France final against Stade de Reims, who are simultaneously battling for top-flight survival via the relegation play-offs.
Paris Saint-Germain
The 2:1 defeat to Strasbourg Alsace in early May remains the only loss for Paris Saint-Germain in their last five matches across all competitions. The squad responded with a 2:1 win over Arsenal, followed by convincing Ligue 1 victories against Montpellier (4:1) and AJ Auxerre (3:1), showcasing their usual dominance. Across 34 Ligue 1 rounds, Paris Saint-Germain scored 92 goals from 103.63 xG. Ousmane Dembélé and Mason Greenwood finished as joint top scorers in the league, each with 21 goals.
Stade de Reims
Stade de Reims played the first leg of their relegation play-off against Metz earlier this week. The 1:1 draw saw their second-tier opponents generate more xG (0.58–0.81) and control possession (39%–61%). Leading up to that, the team had suffered three straight Ligue 1 defeats, with an aggregate score of 1:5. Given their fragile league position, the coaching staff are expected to rotate the squad, placing greater emphasis on survival than upsetting the favourites in this final.
Paris Saint-Germain vs Stade de Reims Prediction
Since the start of last season, Paris Saint-Germain have only managed one win in four meetings with Stade de Reims. However, complacency is unlikely this time around. The team could realistically reach three goals before the interval.
