Simon Dalton presents his prediction for the EuroLeague match.
Olimpia Milano continue their Belgrade road trip. In the opening round the team, despite some difficulties, have defeated Crvena Zvezda (92:82). They now face Partizan Belgrade, who are seeking to make amends after a 76:89 loss to Dubai Basketball.
Partizan Belgrade
Can we say Partizan Belgrade looked poor against Dubai Basketball? Not really. The main reason for the defeat was the opponents’ shot-making: they converted 55% from beyond the arc. The squad have integrated their new signings quickly. No one is monopolising the ball and the half-court sets are consistently paying off: four players scored 10+ points.
Olimpia Milano
Despite the win, Olimpia Milano have raised plenty of questions. The plan leaned heavily on Josh Nebo (12 points, 5 rebounds), yet we are not convinced that, after serious injuries, he will be allowed to log heavy minutes. Meanwhile, Devin Booker still cannot find his rhythm in the new system: 0 points in 12 minutes on the floor. It is obvious that much more was expected from the American big man.
Partizan Belgrade vs Olimpia Milano Prediction
Partizan Belgrade at home and on the road are two very different squads. They are on a 12-game home winning run, and it is clear they do not intend to stop it. We are not convinced that Olimpia Milano, who are still reshaping, can prevent it.
