Simon Dalton presents his prediction for the NBA Summer League match.
The Memphis Grizzlies, like the Oklahoma City Thunder, currently hold a 1:1 record and must secure a win in their final group-stage fixture to progress to the final. Up next, they face the Philadelphia 76ers, who have yet to claim a single victory in the tournament.
Philadelphia 76ers
In their second game of the competition, the Philadelphia 76ers rotated nearly their entire squad, which made their 78:89 defeat to the Oklahoma City Thunder unsurprising. With no chance of advancing to the final, it is unlikely that the squad will exert maximum effort in this concluding match.
Memphis Grizzlies
The Memphis Grizzlies were narrowly edged out by the Utah Jazz yesterday, losing 111:112. The trio of Cameron Spencer, Jaylen Wells, and Jaren Jackson Jr. continue to build their case for a spot under new head coach Tuomas Iisalo. The three combined for a total of 73 points in that game. Their intent to win the tournament is evident, and given the significance of this fixture, it is expected that Tuomas Iisalo will keep them on the floor throughout.
Philadelphia 76ers vs Memphis Grizzlies Prediction
The sole bright spot for the Philadelphia 76ers has been VJ Edgecombe, but it is hard to envision him single-handedly containing the Memphis Grizzlies' high-performing trio. Personally, we think the Grizzlies are clear favourites in this contest.
