Adam Williams presents his prediction for the NBA match.
The resurgent Phoenix Suns are aiming for a fifth straight win as they welcome the league-leading Boston Celtics. The Celtics, however, are unbeaten in six and continue to roll despite a seemingly never-ending list of absentees.
Phoenix Suns
This has been the Suns’ most potent offensive stretch of the season — they’re averaging 126.5 points per 100 possessions during their current winning run. Devin Booker and Kevin Durant are firing on all cylinders, combining for 56 points a night while shooting 47.35% from beyond the arc. Crucially, the wins haven’t come solely against struggling sides — they’ve seen off both the Milwaukee Bucks and the Cleveland Cavaliers in recent days.
Boston Celtics
Injuries are nothing new for the Boston Celtics — they’ve been without at least one starter in 52 of their 72 games this season. The latest absentee is Jayson Tatum, but the Celtics boast the second-best bench net rating in the league (+4.3). Kristaps Porziņģis, easing his way back after a knock, has still managed to put up 23 points on 70% shooting in the paint.
Phoenix Suns vs Boston Celtics Prediction
It’s been just over a year since the Phoenix Suns and the Boston Bruins last faced off. Both teams feature largely the same lineups as before, with Kevin Durant and Devin Booker leading the charge for the Suns and the Celtics retaining their familiar core. Their previous contest produced a combined total of 239 points, a significantly high number. Given the Suns’ potent offence, another high-scoring game seems entirely plausible.
