Adam Williams presents his prediction for the NBA match.
The Phoenix Suns have slipped to ninth in the Western Conference after a poor run of results. With no room left to fall, they urgently need to regroup and get back on track. Any further struggles could cement their status as the league’s biggest disappointment this season.
Phoenix Suns
The Suns rely heavily on their offensive firepower to compensate for defensive frailties. The duo of Kevin Durant and Devin Booker is responsible for over 54 points and 10 assists per game, but the team’s defensive issues remain a glaring weakness. They rank only 20th in defensive efficiency, conceding over 114 points per game. Opponents are getting nearly 90 shot attempts per game and converting at a rate of 46.3%, which has been a major factor in their recent slump.
Utah Jazz
The Jazz have received a significant boost with the return of Lauri Markkanen, their leading scorer. The Finnish forward averages nearly 19 points per game, making him crucial to their offensive success. However, their defence is even worse than the Suns’, ranking 26th in the league and allowing an average of 119 points per game. Opposing teams attempt an enormous 91 shots per game against them, with a field goal accuracy exceeding 47%.
Phoenix Suns vs Utah Jazz Prediction
Two of their three meetings this season have seen a combined total of at least 232 points. Given both teams' defensive struggles and their fast-paced, high-scoring styles, another shootout is highly likely.
