Simon Dalton presents his bet on the fight of the UFC 304.
Let’s fast forward a month and a half. I’m confident the odds will drop in Paddy’s favour.
The UFC is aggressively promoting Paddy (although I’m not sure why). They give him convenient opponents at convenient times. And this fight is no exception. Tournament in England, Pimblett’s home country. The opponent is the aged Bobby Green, ranked 14th in the lightweight rankings. A great chance to finally promote Paddy into the top 15.
As for the opponent’s level, in terms of skills, I think they’re at least equal. But Paddy is younger and, as I said, has his own fans. Green’s fight style is comfortable for Pimblett too. Green is a pressure fighter, I guess, if the British can’t handle on the feet, he’ll just ground-fight.
I assume that by the start of the fight, the odds will be equal, plus or minus 1.9 to 1.9.
