Simon Dalton presents his prediction for the Championship match.
By all accounts, the visitors should win this match. They are the sole leaders in the league, while the hosts, as expected, are at the very bottom of the table.
Plymouth Argyle
In both home matches, Plymouth Argyle conceded one goal each to mid-table teams Hull City and Stoke City, while scoring only once. This season, they have already experienced a heavy defeat, conceding four goals to Sheffield Wednesday (0:4), who are also near the bottom of the table. Now they face the league leaders, whose attack is currently unstoppable.
Sunderland
Sunderland rightfully occupy the top spot in the league. Over four games, Sunderland have scored 10 goals and conceded only one. In the last round, Portsmouth managed to score against them in the 90th minute (1:3). Notably, in three of their four matches, Sunderland have scored at least two goals. Only Burnley, who have a superior squad, managed to limit them to one goal. Sunderland are highly efficient in front of goal, averaging 4.3 shots on target and scoring 2.5 goals per game. In their match against Portsmouth, they had 11 shots, four on target, and three goals.
Plymouth Argyle — Sunderland Prediction
Despite Plymouth Argyle conceding no more than one goal at home so far, Sunderland's excellent form should play a crucial role. Firstly, the visitors are likely to win, and secondly, they should score at least two goals. Bookmakers may be sceptical about such high scoring, but in our opinion, it is very likely in this match. It will be satisfying to win more than double the odds.
