Simon Dalton presents his prediction for the Euro 2024 match.
Poland
Poland beat Turkey in the friendly game on June 10 but left with 2 key forwards injured. Lewandowski and Świderski made the first goal in that game but was substituted due to injuries before the half-time. Lewandowski means a lot for the national side. He was the Polish top scorer in the qualifying campaign, even though he wasn’t in perfect form. On the other hand, Poland hardly managed to qualify for Euro 2024 with only 10 goals scored in their 8 qualifying games.
Netherlands
The side can’t win a European trophy after their triumph in 1988 with an amazing goal that van Basten scored in the final against the USSR. The Netherlands confidently won their friendlies against Canada and Iceland (4:0 in both cases). But how can it help them to overcome France in their group? The Netherlands are supposed to advance to the knockout stage even without injured de Jong and Koopmeiners, but they’re likely to face some problems after the group stage.
Poland – Netherlands prediction
The injuries de Jong and Koopmeiners suffered are not that dangerous for the Netherlands as the ones that Lewandowski, Milik and Świderski have prior to this game. The attacking line of Poland will lack skills. They won’t be able to perform well against the Netherlands.
