In the first two group stage games of Euro 2024, the Portuguese side looked like an unstoppable force. They generated a combined 3.55 xG against the Czech Republic (2:1) and Turkey (3:0), effectively boosting their performance with substitutions. Though they struggled against Georgia (0:2) and in the playoffs due to the defensive style of their opponents, most teams in the Nations League play more openly—allowing the Portuguese players to set Cristiano Ronaldo up for a few more goals.
Croatia
