Simon Dalton presents his prediction for the KNVB Cup match.
Feyenoord’s sale of star striker Santiago Giménez to AC Milan is set to have an immediate impact on their performances, and they now face an uphill battle against PSV Eindhoven in the KNVB Cup quarter-finals. To progress, the Rotterdam side will need to capitalise on mistakes from the reigning Eredivisie champions.
PSV Eindhoven
PSV Eindhoven dropped points again last weekend, drawing 3:3 away to NEC Nijmegen. This result leaves them behind Ajax in terms of points lost, but they still boast the most prolific attack in the Eredivisie with 68 goals in 21 matches. Unlike Feyenoord, PSV made minimal changes during the winter transfer window, with the loan signing of Tyrell Malacia from Manchester United adding flexibility to their attacking play.
Feyenoord Rotterdam
Feyenoord endured a disastrous week, suffering two humiliating defeats. First, they were dismantled by Lille (1:6) in the Champions League, before losing the De Klassieker against Ajax (1:2). Since January, five of their last six matches in all competitions have seen over 2.5 goals. Even without Santiago Giménez, they still managed 12 shots in Amsterdam, suggesting their attack remains a threat.
PSV Eindhoven vs Feyenoord Rotterdam Prediction
PSV Eindhoven and Feyenoord have combined for 15 goals across their last three encounters since March 2024. The hosts hold the advantage, having convincingly won their most recent meeting in December (3:0), but Feyenoord are still capable of creating chances.
