Simon Dalton presents his prediction for the Champions League match.
PSV vs Arsenal preview
Both teams have already qualified for the play-offs. It’s also clear that Arsenal will top the group, no matter how this game will end. PSV are on the perfect unbeaten run. They haven’t lost their 15 consecutive official games in all tournaments (13 wins, 2 draws). The last time the Dutch side lost a game was the first match versus Arsenal in September. Besides this Champions League clash, PSV have only two games left until a short break that will last for several weeks to end in the middle of January. I believe that PSV won’t try to save some strengths and will be focused on the game.
Arsenal lost their last Premier League game versus Aston Villa (0:1). Now they’re second again, one point behind Liverpool and one point ahead of Aston Villa. Fighting the title in England has been a complete mess this season. Arsenal have a lot of important games ahead, including a meeting with Liverpool on December 23. I think that exactly the Premier League games are the Gunners’ priority now.
PSV — Arsenal head-to-head
These teams have quite a rich history of head-to-head matches. Besides their first game in this Champions League, won by Arsenal 4:0, the sides played in the previous season. It was a group stage too. Arsenal won 1:0 in London and PSV beat their opponent 2:0 in Eindhoven. In 2007, the teams played in play-offs. And PSV managed to beat the Gunners on aggregate (2:1).
PSV vs Arsenal odds
There’s no obvious favourite in this game. You can bet on PSV to win at around 3/2. The odds for Arsenal to win are offered at around 17/10. You can also bet on a draw at around 13/5.

PSV vs Arsenal prediction
This game basically means nothing for the away side. The home side will try to do their best to finish this part of the Champions League season positively in front of their fans. I’m pretty sure that many key players of the Gunners will miss at least the first half of the season as they need to take some rest before a very important period starts for Arsenal in the Premier League. This is why I guess that the home side will have chances to score. But their defence leaves much to be desired anyway. It’s a Dutch side. So I expect to see quite many goals.
