Simon Dalton presents his prediction for the Europa League match.
Rangers
The Glasgow side have won just four of their 14 matches this season – two in the Scottish Cup and two in the Champions League qualifiers. In the league they drew 0:0 with Celtic and lost 0:2 to Heart of Midlothian. Their attack has lost some spark, though in Europe they have failed to score only once. Defensively, however, Rangers have been poor, keeping just two clean sheets in their last nine games. Their collapse against Club Brugge in Champions League qualifying was especially damaging, conceding nine goals across the two legs (1:3, 0:6).
Genk
Genk have looked sharper in Europe than at home. They netted six goals across their two ties with Lech Poznań (1:2, 5:1), underlining their attacking potential. On the road they play bravely – all of their last five away games have seen both teams score. Domestically Genk sit in the lower half of the Belgian table, but have failed to score only once in eight matches. Their defence is as fragile as Rangers’, having conceded in every one of their 10 games this season.
Rangers vs Genk Prediction
With both teams struggling at the back but carrying a consistent attacking threat, goals look inevitable. Rangers rarely come away empty-handed at Ibrox and should avoid defeat, but a clean sheet seems highly unlikely. Expect both nets to bulge.
