Simon Dalton presents his prediction for the UEFA Champions League match.
Real Madrid
Real haven’t played a game in April as only the Spanish Cup final was played the last weekend. After a draw in the game versus RB Leipzig in the second leg of the Champions League Round of 16 (1:1), Real have scored 10 goals in their 3 La Liga games, beating Celta (4:0), Osasuna (4:2) and Athletic Bilbao (2:0). Militão is back now, with only Courtois and Alaba missing out of the squad.
Man City
Some players are injured in the Manchester City squad, too. These are Aké and Walker. It’s unclear so far whether Gvardiol will be able to play. Saturday saw the Citizens easily beating Crystal Palace in London. De Bruyne scored twice and made an assist, with Haaland ending his goalless series (4:2). Manchester City have won 9 out of the last 10 away games.
Real Madrid – Man City prediction
Real Madrid and Manchester City are to have a head-to-head game in the late knockout stages for the third consecutive Champions League edition. Despite topping the La Liga table and playing a home game, Real aren’t the favourites.
The last time Manchester City beat Real in Madrid was in February, 2020 (2:1). The Citizens are very solid now. They’re unlikely to lose this match.
