Simon Dalton presents his prediction for the La Liga match.
Real Madrid have started flawlessly with two wins on the spin, whereas RCD Mallorca have yet to find their rhythm.
Real Madrid
Real Madrid have eased into the campaign. After a narrow 1:0 win over Osasuna, the squad recorded a convincing 3:0 victory against Real Oviedo. Even with injuries to Jude Bellingham, Eduardo Camavinga and Ferland Mendy, the back line with Antonio Rüdiger and Dean Huijsen has been reliable. They have not neglected the attack either: the team has generated 4.32 xG, and Kylian Mbappé already sits at the top of the scoring charts with three goals. In the H2H with Mallorca, Real Madrid hold a huge advantage: 10 straight home wins at the Santiago Bernabéu, although only four of those saw Total Over 3.5 Goals.
RCD Mallorca
RCD Mallorca have looked poor at the start of the league season. A 0:3 home defeat to Barcelona and a 1:1 draw with Celta de Vigo exposed the main problems: a leaky defence and a meagre volume of chances. The team produced only 0.89 xG across two rounds and conceded four times from 2.87 xGA. Vedat Muriqi returns from suspension, but he has not shown his previous form. The Kosovo international last scored in mid-March.
Real Madrid vs RCD Mallorca Prediction
Real Madrid dominate at the Santiago Bernabéu and are unlikely to allow RCD Mallorca many openings. However, this is unlikely to be a high-scoring match, and Real Madrid are expected to get it done in a low-total game.
