Simon Dalton presents his prediction for the La Liga match.
Real Valladolid have gone seven games without a win. Facing Rayo Vallecano, who themselves haven't won in three games, presents them with an opportunity to build confidence and fight for survival.
Real Valladolid
The hosts have lost four of their last five matches. They rank last in terms of goals conceded (17) and also have the worst attack, having scored just four goals. It's noteworthy that in four home games, they have won only once, showing that the home advantage is having little effect on their performances.
Rayo Vallecano
For Rayo Vallecano, the standout feature is their solid defence, as they concede only an average of one goal per match despite having a mid-table status. Also worth highlighting is that the team is unbeaten in their last four rounds, and against one of the league's main outsiders, this trend is unlikely to change. Currently, they appear to be the favourites, especially with star newcomer James Rodríguez gaining more playing time and potentially contributing significantly in attack.
Real Valladolid vs Rayo Vallecano Prediction
The last time these teams met in official competition was two years ago in La Liga, and on both occasions, Rayo Vallecano emerged victorious. Given the current balance of power, we don't see a scenario in which the visitors lose this match.
