Simon Dalton presents his prediction for the Segunda División match.
Both sides have endured a poor start to the season and remain winless after four rounds. For Zaragoza and Albacete Balompié, this fixture is a chance to turn things around and climb out of the lower reaches of the table.
Real Zaragoza
Real Zaragoza have looked weak both in attack and defence. The team twice had to dig themselves out against Castellón (1:1) and Valladolid (1:1), but in both cases they were second best on the pitch. Their main hope lies with striker Dani Gómez, who has scored twice, yet his teammates have failed to back him up. At the back, Real Zaragoza have conceded in every match and allowed opponents to generate 5.2 xGA.
Albacete Balompié
Albacete Balompié continue to play open, attacking football — and are paying the price in dropped points. They have already scored eight goals, the sixth-best tally in the league, but their defence has collapsed, conceding six in the last two matches, including a heavy defeat to Mirandés (1:4). Squad absences haven’t helped, but the real issue is a lack of balance. Only in the opening draw with Almería (4:4) did they manage to get something, after which came a run of defeats. However, Albacete have a strong record in this fixture, unbeaten in their last seven meetings with Zaragoza since 2021.
Real Zaragoza vs Albacete Balompié Prediction
Albacete play bold, attacking football and have the firepower to score, while Zaragoza struggle in the final third. History also favours the visitors, who should at least come away with a point here.
