Simon Dalton presents his prediction for the 2024 World Snooker Championship match.
Robert Milkins
This was quite hard for Milkins to reach the main draw. He’s never reached the top 10 in his career. He’s unstable, he’s never been able to stand the long games of 19 frames. Milkins has admitted that he’s almost skipped training prior to the tournament. So, he’s unlikely to surprise the fans in the World Championship.
Pang Junxu
Pang is a young and ambitious player. He’s beaten Oliver Brown (10:7) and Cao Yupeng (10:8) in the qualifying rounds. He’s not perfect in his results, which is pretty similar to Milkins. The expectations are almost the same. This is going to be a long game with many mistakes. No one will be able to lead the match.
Robert Milkins – Pang Junxu prediction
Robert Milkins has had only one century break in the last 9 games (maybe even more, but it’s senseless to count further). He’s only had 8 century breaks this season, with his Chinese opponent making twice more in the same number of the games. Milkins will be anxious and he will be unable to perform well in the opening game.
