Adam Williams presents his prediction for the NBA match.
The Boston Celtics continue their longest road trip of the season, with this clash in Sacramento marking their fourth stop in a demanding six-game, 11-day stretch. Despite the travel, the Celtics are in imperious form and will be aiming for a fourth straight win over the Sacramento Kings.
Sacramento Kings
Defensively, the Kings are trending in the wrong direction — particularly on the perimeter. They’ve dropped their last two home games against the Milwaukee Bucks (108:114) and the Chicago Bulls (116:128), largely due to woeful three-point defence. In six of their last seven, opponents have shot over 40% from beyond the arc, and in three of those they’ve cleared the 55% mark. Considering the Celtics are shattering three-point records this season, the home team’s defence could be in serious trouble.
Boston Celtics
With the Celtics, personnel doesn’t dictate firepower. Even without Jaylen Brown, Sam Hauser and Payton Pritchard drilled 8-of-19 from deep (42.1%) against the Utah Jazz in a 121:99 blowout. For context, only the Jazz concede more threes per game than the Sacramento Kings (14.8 vs 14.6). The Celtics have featured in 15 of the 19 games this season where a team has attempted over 60% of their shots from deep — and they’ve turned those into wins by outgunning opponents with sheer volume and accuracy.
Sacramento Kings vs Boston Celtics Prediction
The Kings are the perfect match-up for the Boston Celtics’ play style. Their perimeter defence is too soft to survive a barrage from a team that thrives on volume from beyond the arc. Whether it’s Jayson Tatum, Derrick White or the role players, the Celtics will fire away — and with the Kings unable to keep up, expect a convincing road win.
