Adam Williams presents his prediction for the Premiership Rugby match.
In April, both Sale Sharks and Saracens have followed the same trajectory: each suffered defeat at the hands of French opposition in the Champions Cup knockout round but bounced back with wins in the Premiership. But something must give — or could we see a rare draw?
Sale Sharks
A draw seems unlikely. None of the last 14 encounters between these sides has ended level, with the most recent draw dating back to 3 November 2018, when the teams shared a 15:15 result at Sale Sharks' home ground. Since then, the wins have been evenly split — seven each. Were all of Sale Sharks' victories on home soil? Not entirely, but the pattern is clear: six of those games were played in Salford, with the hosts coming out on top in five. The exception came in 2022, when they lost 12:18. It's also noteworthy that none of their wins came by a margin of more than 11 points.
Saracens
When this fixture has been played in London, Saracens have won six of the last eight contests. With one exception — the most recent clash earlier this season, which ended 45:26 — the home side has never secured victory by more than 14 points. These are two evenly matched squads. Saracens, having rebuilt following their time in the Championship, no longer exert the same domestic dominance they once enjoyed prior to their sanctions.
Sale Sharks vs Saracens Prediction
Sale Sharks currently sit above Saracens in the standings — a reversal of the pattern seen for most of the campaign. Sale Sharks are fourth, holding the final play-off place, while Saracens are fifth, trailing only by points difference. With just four rounds to go, this match is crucial for both teams. The advantage lies with the home side. This is expected to be a very closely contested match, with little separating the two sides.
