Adam Williams presents his prediction for the NHL match.
In last season’s Stanley Cup Playoffs, the Seattle Kraken pushed the Dallas Stars all the way to Game 7 of the second round, falling narrowly in a 1:2 defeat. That memorable run was backed by a 100-point regular season. This year, however, the Kraken's playoff hopes were officially extinguished on 29 March.
Seattle Kraken
So, what’s left to play for against the Stars? Pride? Enjoyment? Hard to imagine much joy in the Kraken’s current brand of hockey. Dan Bylsma’s system lacks spark, and the team traded away some of its more creative assets at the deadline. Yanni Gourde and Oliver Bjorkstrand are now lighting it up for the Tampa Bay Lightning, while the Kraken are left with a lighter payroll but without their key playmakers. Four losses in their last five tell the story — 18 goals conceded during that span. Their only win? A stunning 6:1 result over the Edmonton Oilers, though it came with major asterisks: no Leon Draisaitl, no Connor McDavid, and no Stuart Skinner in net for the Oilers due to injuries.
Dallas Stars
The Stars are still without Tyler Seguin and Miro Heiskanen, but they’ve adjusted seamlessly. The Stars have collected six wins from their last ten, including five straight since mid-March. One of those wins was a statement 5:1 dismantling of the Kraken at Climate Pledge Arena — a result that effectively ended the Kraken’s playoff dream. In that game, the Kraken’s usually reliable netminder Joey Daccord saved just 80% of shots faced, while Jake Oettinger turned in a stellar 97.2% performance on 36 saves.
Seattle Kraken vs Dallas Stars Prediction
There’s little to suggest the Seattle Kraken can avenge that defeat. The energy is gone, the roster is depleted, and the Dallas Stars are still firing despite injury setbacks. With the visitors chasing form for the playoffs, expect them to come out sharp and take care of business.
