Adam Williams presents his prediction for the NHL match.
The Seattle Kraken continue their push for a playoff spot, sitting mid-table, while the San Jose Sharks languish at the bottom of the standings, having all but lost their chance of making the postseason.
Seattle Kraken
The Kraken have been inconsistent with results, alternating between wins and losses, but their offensive production remains high. Over their last six games, they have scored 20 goals (an average of 3.33 per game). Notably, they have recently put together some strong attacking performances against weaker opponents: the Buffalo Sabres (6:4), the Pittsburgh Penguins (4:1), the Los Angeles Kings (4:2). In two previous meetings this season, the Kraken scored seven goals against the Sharks. Their attack is led by Kaapo Kakko, who has been in fine form since his trade, recording 15 points (4+11) in 19 games.
San Jose Sharks
The Sharks are on a terrible run, having lost six of their last seven games while conceding 35 goals in that span—an alarming average of 5.0 per game. Their defensive struggles are nothing new, as the Sharks have the worst defence in the NHL, conceding an average of 3.7 goals per game. Their goaltending issues also stand out. Alexandar Georgiev has a save percentage of just 87.7%, one of the worst in the league. Yaroslav Askarov has struggled in recent games, posting save percentages of 82.4% against the Florida Panthers and 84.2% against the Nashville Predators.
Seattle Kraken vs San Jose Sharks Prediction
The Seattle Kraken have been dominant at home and scoring freely in recent games. Meanwhile, the San Jose Sharks’ defensive woes continue to cost them heavily. Given their poor goaltending and inability to limit opposition chances, the Kraken should comfortably score four or more goals in this matchup.
