Simon Dalton presents his prediction for the WNBA match.
The Seattle Storm and the Minnesota Lynx are preparing for the third fixture in their regular-season series. The head-to-head is currently tied at 1:1, with both sides having claimed home victories. The series now shifts back to Washington State, where the Minnesota Lynx will be looking to settle the score.
Seattle Storm
The Seattle Storm are struggling with form. They have recorded just two wins in their last five games, both coming against teams near the bottom of the standings — the Chicago Sky (95:57) and the Connecticut Sun (101:85). They've also lost to mid-table teams like the Los Angeles Sparks (106:108 2OT) and the Washington Mystics (58:69). Given this patchy form, it's hard to make a case for them against the Minnesota Lynx.
Minnesota Lynx
The Minnesota Lynx, on the other hand, are enjoying a strong spell. They recently defeated the Eastern Conference leaders, the New York Liberty (100:93), and delivered a dominant performance against a competitive Las Vegas Aces squad (111:57). This uptick is largely thanks to a long-awaited development — Napheesa Collier finally has consistent support in attack. Kayla McBride has notched 24 points in back-to-back games and is emerging as a key offensive force for the squad.
Seattle Storm vs Minnesota Lynx Prediction
Surprisingly, the bookmakers have placed the Seattle Storm as favourites. This appears to be a misjudgement worth capitalising on. The squad has lacked consistency and failed to impress in recent outings. The same cannot be said for the Minnesota Lynx, who are in excellent form.
