Simon Dalton presents his prediction for the Conference League Qualifying match.
Anderlecht are firmly on course for a place in the main stage of European competition. In the first leg, they thrashed Sheriff Tiraspol (3:0) at home, and now the Belgian giants head to Moldova with nothing but another win on their minds.
Sheriff Tiraspol
It’s hard to call that heavy defeat a shock. Sheriff Tiraspol are weaker in terms of squad quality, and it showed on the scoreboard. The biggest problem is that they genuinely tried to play aggressively and create chances, yet managed only 0.96 xG and two shots on target despite having 47% possession.
RSC Anderlecht
RSC Anderlecht delivered a textbook performance, consistently turning attacks into dangerous efforts — six of their 12 shots were on target, amounting to 2.51 xG. On top of that, their talisman Kasper Dolberg is in superb form, having scored in each of his four matches this season.
Sheriff Tiraspol vs RSC Anderlecht Prediction
We don’t expect any intrigue here. Anderlecht are simply on another level, and even at home, Sheriff are unlikely to have any real chances. The Belgian side should collect another win.
