Simon Dalton presents his prediction for the friendly football match.
Southampton
At the end of May, Southampton got promoted by winning the Championship play-offs. They beat West Bromwich (3:1 on aggregate) and Leeds United (1:0). The team found a replacement for Che Adams in Benjamin Brereton. They also bought Taylor Harwood-Bellis and Flynn Downes from Manchester City and West Ham for a total of 45 million euros. In the pre-season, Southampton is showing they will be a tough opponent in the Premier League. They’ve won four out of five friendly matches and scored 14 goals in total.
Lazio
Last season, Lazio finished seventh in the Serie A. This means they’ll play in the Europa League group stage. Besides Ciro Immobile, Felipe Anderson also left the team. However, new players Nuno Tavares and Gaetano Castrovilli could be good options for Marco Baroni. Both have plenty of international experience. It’s worth noting that four out of five of Lazio’s friendly matches had over 2.5 goals scored. The new coach is focusing on quick attacks
Southampton - Lazio Prediction
This friendly match will help both Southampton and Lazio prepare for their new seasons. We expect lots of goal-scoring chances from these two teams, who are about equal in skill.
