The Spanish team had a bad game against Australia (80:92) on both sides of the court. They wanted to make the game slow, but they failed to defend against Josh Giddy. Spain tried different ways to defend, from their special 3-2 zone defense to individual defense on their half and full court. In the end, Spain lost 5-15 in fast break points, and Santi Aldama was the only player who shot well from the three-point line (6 out of 8).
Greece
Spain's confusion in defending the opponent's best player might be even worse against Greece. Giannis Antetokounmpo already played great in his first game. Even though his team lost, he became the third player in history to score more than 30 points in an Olympic game. He also made 11 out of 17 shots, drew 10 fouls, and got 5 rebounds.

Like the Australians, the Greeks use the court space well. In their first game, even against a strong and fast Canada team, they scored 15 points after the opponent's turnovers and 11 in fast breaks.
