Simon Dalton presents his prediction for the Women’s EuroBasket match.
Spain (women)
Spain’s group stage campaign was largely defined by their closely contested clash against Sweden (78:75 OT). As expected, the Spaniards continue to face issues in offensive execution, posting a field goal percentage of just 39.1% in their most recent outing. Additionally, despite their status as favourites, Spain have struggled on the boards, averaging just 35.3 rebounds per game — only the 11th-best statistic in the competition.
Czech Republic (women)
The Czech Republic look well-equipped to take advantage of this shortcoming. Averaging 42.7 rebounds per game, they rank third in that category, giving them a potential edge in second-chance opportunities. They also rank among the top three in blocks, recording four per game. These strengths have translated into defensive solidity, with the squad conceding just 56 points per game on average. Defensive resilience was on display against Belgium, who managed only 72 points — down from their tournament average of 76.3.
Spain (women) vs Czech Republic (women) Prediction
Spain have shown inconsistency throughout the tournament. While they remain the stronger side on paper, the Czech Republic appear more than capable of making this a competitive encounter — a one-sided result seems unlikely.
