Simon Dalton presents his prediction for the UEFA Champions League match.
Sparta Prague
Right after beating Shamrock at the start of the last week, Sparta defeated Teplice in their national championship (4-1). Angelo Preciado, who came off from the bench, was great in attack, making an assist and the winning goal was scored by Lukas Haraslin from the Slovakia national team. In Ireland, the Prague club dominated for all 90 minutes (13 shots with 9 on target), and also they took seven corner kicks. The team attacks in many different ways.
Shamrock Rovers
Shamrock seems to have gotten the most out of their Champions League qualifying, beating Icelandic champions Vikingur in the previous round (2:1 on aggregate). If in Dublin Shamrock Rovers had only 31% possession, then in the Czech Republic a tougher match awaits them. Especially since Sparta has become stronger through their championship. Shamrock won’t change the lineup, the team will again play with five defenders, while Johnny Kenny and Jack Watson will try to catch chances on counter-attacks.
Sparta Prague - Shamrock Rovers Prediction
In seven games this season (official games and friendlies), Sparta has always scored at least two goals. Shamrock's defence will again struggle under the pressure from the powerful attack of the Czech team.
Sparta Prague had a great start to their campaign, which is leading them to the Champions League’s next qualifying round. It's clear that in the Czech capital, Shamrock Rovers hopes for a miracle, as their opponent is too strong and consistent to be beaten.
