Simon Dalton presents his prediction for the ATP Doha match.
Greek star Stefanos Tsitsipas faces a dangerous opponent in Hamad Medjedovic, a rising Serbian talent who recently reached the final in Marseille. Despite being ranked No.73, Medjedovic has proven he can challenge top players, making this an intriguing matchup.
Stefanos Tsitsipas
Tsitsipas skipped competitive play last week, with his most recent tournament being Rotterdam, where he reached the quarter-finals before suffering a disappointing 4:6, 2:6 loss to World No.92 Mattia Bellucci. The Greek has struggled to go beyond the quarter-finals since the grass-court season last year, with his best result being a semi-final in Gstaad. His current form is far from his best, making this match trickier than it might seem.
Hamad Medjedovic
Medjedovic has been in excellent form. He recently won a Challenger title in Oeiras and then made a sensational run to the Marseille final, taking down Karen Khachanov (6:2, 6:3) and Daniil Medvedev (6:3, 6:2) along the way. Beating two established top-25 players, especially Medvedev, shows his potential. All five of his 2025 wins have come indoors on hard courts, but he also boasts an 18-7 record outdoors.
Stefanos Tsitsipas vs Hamad Medjedovic Prediction
Tsitsipas is not in peak form, while Medjedovic is rapidly improving. Given his dominant victories over Khachanov and Medvedev, the Serbian could cause another upset. At such high odds, betting on Medjedovic to win is worth the risk.
