Simon Dalton presents his prediction for the ATP Rotterdam match.
Sixth seed Stefanos Tsitsipas begins his Rotterdam campaign against French qualifier Harold Mayot in the first round. The Greek is the clear favourite, though he held the same status in the Australian Open first round – only to suffer an early elimination.
Stefanos Tsitsipas
In Melbourne, Stefanos Tsitsipas was one of six seeded players eliminated in the first round of the Grand Slam. Ranked 11th at the time, he was only outdone among the early casualties by Andrey Rublev (9) and Grigor Dimitrov (10) – though the Bulgarian withdrew due to injury. Tsitsipas was stunned by world No. 42 Alex Michelsen, meaning he has now won just one of his last five matches.
Harold Mayot
His upcoming opponent is ranked even lower than Michelsen. The 20-year-old Frenchman currently sits at No. 138 and has only one ATP main draw match to his name this year – a first-round defeat in Montpellier last week. In 2024, he played just 12 tour-level matches, recording a modest 4-8 record. His best win last season came against a player ranked 84th in the world.
Stefanos Tsitsipas vs Harold Mayot Prediction
Tsitsipas’ recent struggles raise concerns over his form, but this time, he faces a significantly weaker opponent. The Frenchman is unlikely to pose a serious challenge, and the Greek should claim a comfortable victory.
