Simon Dalton presents his prediction for the DFB-Pokal match.
With Bayern Munich long gone from the DFB-Pokal, the race for the trophy is wide open — and both Stuttgart and RB Leipzig will see this as a golden opportunity. The teams will meet in the second semi-final, and the hosts are widely considered to be the favourites
Stuttgart
Stuttgart head into this semi-final on a rough run. Just two draws and four defeats from their last six matches highlight a side struggling to impose itself. The main issue lies in the final third — only twice in that span have they scored more than two goals. Their latest outing, a 0:1 loss to Eintracht Frankfurt, saw them hit the target just twice — against a side hardly known for defensive solidity.
RB Leipzig
RB Leipzig have endured a season plagued by inconsistency and injuries. That trend continues with key midfielders Kevin Kampl and Antonio Nusa ruled out. Still, RB Leipzig have tightened up at the back recently, conceding just three goals in their last five matches — though they’ve only scored four themselves.
Stuttgart vs RB Leipzig Prediction
Only once in Leipzig’s last 10 fixtures has the total goals tally exceeded three. With both teams short on firepower and rotation options limited due to injuries, a cagey affair seems likely — especially with a place in the final on the line.
