Simon Dalton presents his prediction for the Championship match.
In the last round, both teams saw just one goal scored in their matches. However, while Swansea City suffered a defeat, Norwich City secured a win. The hosts are eager to bounce back from their setback, while the visitors aim to extend their three-match unbeaten streak.
Swansea City
Swansea City have been struggling to find the net. In the round before the international break, they failed to score. Their attacking efforts only amounted to 0.46 xG and six shots (2 on target). Even though Swansea City are playing at home this time, the situation doesn't seem to change much. Recently, in the League Cup, they were unable to score against Wycombe Wanderers from League 1 (0:1) and managed just one goal against Cardiff City (1:1), despite Cardiff's poor defensive record in the preceding matches. The only time Swansea City scored more than one goal this season was at home against one of the primary relegation candidates, Preston North End (3:0).
Norwich City
Norwich City haven't been particularly prolific in front of goal either. They have scored the same number of goals as Swansea City (four) but have conceded more (five). Their most entertaining match was a 2:2 draw with Blackburn Rovers, a team known for their open play. However, in the other three rounds, Norwich's games were much more subdued, with no more than two goals scored in any of them. In the fourth round, Norwich won away at Coventry City 1:0, scoring from their only shot on target.
Swansea City — Norwich City Prediction
Both teams have a common trend this season: in three out of their four matches, the total under 2.5 has occurred. Additionally, in their last 10 head-to-head encounters, the total under 2.5 happened six times. Given their modest attacking output, we can expect another low-scoring match, with a maximum of two goals.
